Before I finished my management degree, I started a media company with my business partner. Running my business provided me with more knowledge, experience, and confidence in one year than four years of college ever could. 
 

Remarkably, the last year of running my business was the most revealing. It taught me what holds teams together even in hard times, it taught me what difference it makes if you threat your team as indispensable part of the company, if you show integrity and consistently uphold the vision backed with the core purpose of the company. This came to me naturally, still in my latter positions in industries it was seldom I could experience same principles running companies elsewhere. ​
